Zondag 29 januari van 10 tot 16u is er een OpenToko kennis-uitwisselings workshop over het beginnen van je eigen webshop.
Tijdens de workshop zullen o.a. Edwin Dertien en Wouter van Ooijen hun ervaringen delen op dit gebied. Wouter heeft zelf zijn eigen webshop gebouwd en is de man achter de online electronica winkel www.voti.nl. Edwin heeft ervaring met het implementeren van het open source e-commerce systeem ZenCart.
Onderwerpen die aan bod komen:
- Hoe plaats je een webshop op je website?
- Hoe regel je betalingen (PayPal, iDEAL, Bank, CreditCard etc.)?
- Welke online diensten zijn er beschikbaar?
- Wat zijn de voor-/nadelen van zelf hosten vs. gebruiken maken van online dienst?
- Hoe hou je de administratie bij van je webshop?
Ben je nieuw met webshops leer dan tijdens deze workshop alles wat je nodig hebt om te starten. Heb je al ervaring met het opzetten van een webshop kom dan vooral ook en deel je kennis.

Je mag zelf kiezen hoeveel je betaalt voor de workshop. We werken met waardebepaling achteraf: heb je er veel aan gehad dan betaal je meer dan wanneer je het niet nuttig zo vond. Van de opbrengst worden de sprekers betaald, de lunch en de huur van de ruimte.

Learn how to use Microsoft’s Kinect 3D camera in open source environments like openFrameworks and Processing.
The first part of the workshop will get you started using the Kinect for your own purposes. The second part will focus on the use of the Kinect inside openFrameworks together with OpenNI. We will focus on implementing hand and finger recognition in combination with basic vector math inside openFrameworks, for generating meaningful parameters which can be used for any system to be controlled with the Kinect. Please bring your own Kinect camera.

Short presentations about technical topics by ‘yourself’
You have 30 minutes max to talk about a technical topic that inspires you. Try to present in such a way that after half an hour the participants have enough information for getting started with this technique. It can be about design, programming, electronics, hacking etc.

This Sunday (November 27th @ 11:00) there will be an OpenToko workshop about Plumi, an open source video sharing system as an alternative for YouTube and other commercial social media services. The workshop takes place at De War in Amersfoort and will be given by Dimitris Moraitis from unweb.me.
Plumi is about creating your own video portal and staying in control of your content! It is an open source video sharing platform based on Plone. It comes bundled with rich features like server side video transcoding, video embedding and sharing, fine grained user management and workflow control, site wide vodcasting, bittorrent integration, large file uploading via FTP and more.
During the first part of the workshop you will learn why initiatives as Plumi are needed and how the project started. Dimitris will also talk a about a new initiative called “mist.io: down to earth cloud computing”. The second part of the workshop will be hands-on and gets you started with installing your own copy of Plumi on your webserver.
This OpenToko workshop is the first of a series of workshops and discussions about social media monopolies and their alternatives.
